BHYMCA (Boonville) Swim Team

Monday, Wednesday

BHYMCA 3rd Street

The BHYMCA Marlins Swim Team is a competitive swim program teaching youth skills and sportsmanship while also offering a sport with an individual focus as well as teamwork.

At BHYMCA we offer our summer swim team which competes with other local communities primarily in an outdoor pool setting.
Our Fall and Winter Swim Team programs, allow the youth to compete the entire year. These seasons are at Y sanctioned meets.
Currently all of our swim team programs meet on Mondays and Wednesday evenings under the guidance of our experienced swim
team coaches. Season activities may also include physical conditioning away from the pool.
Not all swimmers are required to compete.
At the begninnig of each season, our coaches will test the swimmers on their current skill level.

Benefits of Swim Team:

Social Development

Swim teams foster an environment of camaraderie and teamwork. As kids learn to swim together, they build relationships with their peers, learning to support, encourage, and respect each other. They experience firsthand the values of cooperation and mutual support, learning life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, and leadership.

Emotional and Cognitive Benefits

Swimming competitively can help children build resilience, discipline, and a strong work ethic. They learn to cope with victories and losses, developing a sense of sportsmanship. Moreover, the focus required during swim training can improve children’s concentration and cognitive function, positively impacting their academic performance.
