Aerobics Instructors

Position Summary
The Aerobics Instructor is responsible for planning and leading safe, effective, and engaging group exercise classes at the Boonslick Heartland YMCA. Instructors motivate and encourage participants of all fitness levels to achieve their personal wellness goals while promoting a positive and inclusive class environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead aerobic fitness classes such as cardio, step, dance, HIIT, or other formats based on training and experience.
  • Provide clear instructions and demonstrations for proper exercise technique and form.
  • Offer modifications and progressions to meet the needs of a variety of fitness levels.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Ensure the safety of all class members by monitoring form and responding to emergencies when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness spaces before and after class.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes.
  • Build positive relationships with class participants and promote continued participation in YMCA wellness programs.
  • Communicate effectively with YMCA staff regarding scheduling, class feedback, and facility needs.
  • Stay current with fitness trends, safety guidelines, and certifications.

Yoga Instructor

Position Summary
The Yoga Instructor leads safe, engaging, and inclusive yoga classes for members of all skill levels at the Boonslick Heartland YMCA. The instructor promotes physical wellness, flexibility, and mental well-being while fostering a supportive community atmosphere within the class.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach yoga classes appropriate to the experience and abilities of participants.
  • Guide students through proper alignment, breathing techniques, and safe transitions between poses.
  • Offer modifications and progressions to accommodate all fitness and flexibility levels.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and calming environment where all participants feel comfortable and supported.
  • Promote the mind-body connection and encourage mindfulness and relaxation as part of each class.
  • Maintain class safety, observing and correcting participant form as needed.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the studio space before and after class.
  • Build positive relationships with members to encourage ongoing participation and wellness engagement.
  • Communicate with YMCA staff regarding class schedules, attendance, and any participant or facility concerns.
  • Stay current on yoga trends, best practices, and certification requirements.

Adventure Club Staff

Location: BHYMCA 3rd Street

Job Type: Part-Time

Season: School Year

Adventure Club is the Y’s afterschool program at the Boonville 3rd Street location.  Adventure club offers a few hours of fun, mentorship and care.  As we seek Adventure Club staff, we are looking for someone who will be attentive to the youth and communicate effectively with parents when they pick up.

This position is Monday-Friday with afternoon hours up to 6 pm.  This program begins once Boonville schools release for the day until 6 pm.  Applicants must be interactive and willing to keep the environment clean, welcoming and engaging.  To apply, please stop in at 757 3rd Street, Boonville, for an employment application.  Please indicate Adventure Club on the application.

ECLC Classroom Teachers

Department: Day Camps

Location: Early Childhood Learning Center

Job Type: Part-Time

Season: Ongoing

ECLC provides daycare to area families in a nurturing and welcoming setting.  ECLC classroom teachers will care for youth while providing educational activities, play time and the opportunity to learn, thrive and grow.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday.  ECLC is open 6am to 6pm and shifts will be designed around the need for covering the youth rooms.  This is a part-time position working with kids.  The right candidate will enjoy working with youth and will be capable of effectively communicating with parents and peers.
